The study investigated the Perception of Stakeholders on Academic Staff Development Programmes in Nigerian Polytechnics. This research adopted descriptive survey design with target population of 2495 academic staff and 74850 students of Science Laboratory Technology Programme in the 6 geo-political zones in Nigeria. The findings of the study revealed among others that participation in conferences, seminars, workshops etc. has enhanced academic staff ability to develop student's critical thinking, knowledge and new research development in their area of specialization. Based on the findings, recommendations were made among others that federal and state government should set up monitoring teams to all state and federal polytechnics for regular inspection of laboratory materials. Academic staff of polytechnics should be made to acquire adequate skills on laboratory practices. Also, non-governmental agencies and rich individuals should assist in complementing government efforts financially.
