Internet protocols and technology, even if originally conceived for data communication, can actually be used even for real-time video transport. Progress made in image-processing, as in computer and networking technology, allowed the implementation of several useful applications, such as video streaming, video conference and video phone calling. Specifically, the work done for this book focuses upon multipoint real time Mpeg4-FGS video distribution with a P2p approach.

Carmen D'Anna received the Laurea degree in ElectronicEngineering from the University of Catania in April 2009.Diego Reforgiato Recupero is a post doctoral researcher at theDIIT of the University of Catania. In 2004 he defended his phdthesis; in 2008 he was a winner of Marie Curie InternationalReintegration Grant (IRG).
