The book explores the concept of male disempowerment in the context of the ongoing social change in Kenya. The study puts this examination within the familial setup and discusses the roles ascribed to men within the traditional and contemporary family setups. The premise of doing so is the argument that continuing male disempowerment is a factor that is contributing to disunity in Kenyan families. Additionally, the book explores how male disempowerment is manifested.
