The citrus is sensitive to lack of moisture, nutrients, water logging and nutrients uptake, plant growth, regular flowering and quality fruiting. These factors when combined together lead to citrus decline. He obtained his B. Tech (Agril. Engg.), M. Tech, and Ph. D degrees from Mahatma Phule Agricultural University, Rahuri (M. S.), IIT, Kharagpur (W. B.), and Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University (M.P.), India, respectively. He is an agricultural engineer and Sr.scientist doing research on citrus water management at NRC for citrus since 1992.
